It’s official: I’ve made it from the coast of the Pacific to the shores of the Atlantic with my dog Kekoa as my trusty sidekick. At my final stops in Jupiter and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, I had the opportunity to meet with some outstanding clinical professionals.
The more time I spent getting to know CareRev professionals, the more evident it became that they love to work, because they love the work that they do.
It’s motivating to see that CareRev nurses are becoming a reliable source of talent for hospital systems around the country. The biggest surprise of the trip was discovering how valuable we're becoming to the facilities we work with. It’s a reminder that we are on the right track with the work we’re doing.
I was able to meet with Joan, a Telemetry RN with 29 years of experience, who said, “Even when [the hospitals] are short-staffed they know they have CareRev nurses they can count on.” This is a reflection of CareRev professionals’ commitment to their patients, practice and communities at large. When hospitals need support, CareRev professionals are willing and able to step in on a moment’s notice.
“I just want to do my job and do it well,” Joan told me. “I have options at CareRev.”
As a former nurse myself, I am intimately familiar with the effort, the compassion, and the strength it takes to be a healthcare worker. As the founder and CEO of CareRev, I’ve consistently seen that providing clinical professionals with flexibility and more autonomy is a surefire way to spark enthusiasm, to revive a passion for caregiving, and to ignite a willingness to go above and beyond in the workplace.
We want to empower nurses to run their lives on their terms.
At our luncheon in Jupiter, I had the chance to speak with Jerry, an ICU RN who is dedicated to his work and grateful for the flexibility he is able to achieve through CareRev. He told me that he wants to be a CEO, and I reflected on my own professional journey.
As we continue to grow as a company, it is my intention to ensure we continue to support clinical professionals in new ways, like building out our resources library and finding training and education opportunities to help professionals like Jerry achieve their ultimate goals, like perhaps being CEO of their own companies!
Lastly, I would be remiss to not shout out Maria, a CNA and soon-to-be RN who will be taking her boards in the near future. After throwing out a few quiz questions during lunch in Jupiter, I can confidently say that she will be certified in no time. Everyone please wish her luck – although she doesn’t need it!
CareRev is a community that forever humbles me. Thank you, Florida!
